“There is no ailment, a good dose of humor can’t treat”
Meerut-ka-Ladka Amit followed his dream of becoming a filmmaker all the way to Mumbai. Being a “third culture kid”, a keen observer of human behavior and a post-graduate in journalism it was only natural that he’d come to a point where he could just sit on a wall the entire day, watching people behaving in different ways. Soon he jumped off the wall and started making documentaries in coal and steel ore mining areas. He made several corporate films for Steel Giants of India and other countries, before finally finding his calling among the strange humans called actors.
Amit almost restarted his career in advertising in 2012 with performance based TVCs, dealing with what is considered the most difficult genre: Comedy! Exploring subtle nuances of performances and pushing his actors to bring out their best – in a very calm and systematic manner is his forte. During the course of more than 900 films nobody has yet found him shouting on his sets. He jumped across the wall this time and finished writing and directing “Soon to be released” big ticket OTT show produced Mr. Raj Kumar Hirani. There are many more walls to scale, many more wall to make doors through – all with a pinch of giggle and laughter.
